The UK and Qatar have launched a joint Artificial Intelligence research commission, seeking to establish a roadmap for UK-Qatar AI collaboration that will benefit both countries.<\/h2>\n

The project will build on the exciting technological progress that both countries have made and identify and scope practical and ambitious ways for the countries to enhance AI collaboration in line with their technology strategies.<\/p>\n

Ecosystem development, policy and regulation, security, and international engagement will be explored in various ways.<\/p>\n

The joint study will be led by Queen Mary University of London in partnership with Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Qatar.<\/p>\n

Professor David Leslie, Professor of Ethics, Technology, and Society at Queen Mary University of London\u2019s Digital Environment Research Institute and Director of Ethics and Responsible Innovation Research at the Alan Turing Institute, is leading the study.<\/p>\n

Key AI policies in the UK and Qatar<\/h3>\n

Both the UK and Qatar have developed strategies and frameworks to govern the use of AI, focusing on promoting innovation, ensuring ethical use, and addressing societal impacts.<\/p>\n
