Projections estimate that around 17 million EVs will be sold by the end of 2024, representing over 20% of all car sales globally.<\/p>\n

The study examined data from over 4,000 EV charging stations and 140,000 businesses in California, USA.<\/p>\n

The results show that the installation of just one charging station led to a 1.4% increase in consumer spending at nearby establishments in 2019, and a 0.8% rise between January 2021 and June 2023.<\/p>\n

In total, this contributed to an economic boost of USD 6.7 million in 2019 and $19.5m from 2021 to mid-2023.<\/p>\n

Researchers noted that EV charging stations attract higher-income individuals, who are more likely to spend money at local businesses during the charging period.<\/p>\n

The study highlights that businesses in sectors such as retail, food services, and entertainment benefit significantly from being located near charging stations.<\/p>\n
