of Warwick set to lead immersive tech supercharge"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The University of Warwick has been selected by Innovate UK to lead a new initiative to supercharge creative and immersive technology in Coventry and Warwickshire.<\/h2>\n<p>The university will lead a range of activities focused on the established and emergent immersive tech industries in the West Midlands.<\/p>\n<p>This follows on from Warwick being ranked as the best university for gamers in 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Clare Green, Associate Director of Creative Futures at The University of Warwick, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to be chosen by Innovate UK to lead as cluster management organisation linked to the Coventry &amp; Warwickshire Launchpad, which will bolster the immersive and creative innovation ecosystem in our region and stimulate economic development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur University\u2019s renowned research capabilities in computer science, engineering and creative industries, as well as our connection with Silicon Spa\u2019s games cluster, will be instrumental in the success of this initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Connecting businesses and researchers<\/h3>\n<p>In collaboration with Coventry University, the team will facilitate industry events, meetups and networking opportunities to connect businesses with researchers and investors across the immersive tech ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>It comes as part of the \u00a37.5m investment in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.warwickshire.gov.uk\/news\/article\/4733\/up-to-7-5million-will-be-injected-into-businesses-in-coventry-and-warwickshire-as-part-of-a-new-investment-programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Immersive and Creative Technologies Launchpad Programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Izzi Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council, stated: \u201cThe coming together of the region&#8217;s universities and thriving creative and immersive tech businesses is a collaboration worth celebrating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future of the industry is one that this region can be excited about, and with the already established success in joining forces with academic institutions, we are well-positioned to lead and shape the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/disruptive-technology\/\">next generation of technological advancements<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Driving innovation in the immersive tech industry<\/h3>\n<p>This two-year project will support immersive and creative businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire, aiding them in developing innovative products and services, generating high-value jobs, enhancing productivity, and driving regional economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>University of Warwick student Chris Haywood wants to work in the sector and currently runs his own creative business.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the initiative, he said: \u201cThe immersive tech sector\u2014encompassing augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and gaming \u2013 also presents incredible career opportunities and innovative potential for us as students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy fostering closer collaboration with these dynamic industries, we not only enhance the educational experience but
