{"id":48493,"date":"2024-06-13T11:31:42","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T10:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/?p=48493"},"modified":"2024-09-12T11:57:24","modified_gmt":"2024-09-12T10:57:24","slug":"european-companies-join-forces-to-establish-fusion-association","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/european-companies-join-forces-to-establish-fusion-association\/48493\/","title":{"rendered":"European companies join forces to establish Fusion Association"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>European companies have agreed to establish a European Fusion Association to secure Europe\u2019s long-term energy supply.<\/h2>\n<p>This initiative aims to tackle one of the biggest challenges for the coming decades: enhancing strategic autonomy for clean energy, with fusion energy being key to this ambition.<\/p>\n<p>The European Fusion Association (EFA) seeks to build a strong, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/europes-fusion-energy-journey\/30279\/\">world-class European fusion ecosystem<\/a> that ensures a sustainable long-term supply chain for fusion energy.<\/p>\n<h3>Establishing a Fusion Association based on shared beliefs<\/h3>\n<p>The founding members of this association include the following companies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alsymex (France)<\/li>\n<li>ASG (Italy)<\/li>\n<li>Assystem (France)<\/li>\n<li>Bruker EAS (Germany)<\/li>\n<li>Demaco (Netherlands)<\/li>\n<li>Gauss Fusion (Europe)<\/li>\n<li>IDOM (Spain)<\/li>\n<li>Simic (Italy)<\/li>\n<li>Subra (Denmark)<\/li>\n<li>Trumpf (Germany)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fusionindustryassociation.org\/event\/iter-fusion-workshop\/#:~:text=293,sector%20fusion%20companies%20going%20forward.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ITER Private Sector Fusion Workshop<\/a>, held in May 2024 at Cadarache, the idea was born to establish the European Fusion Association, driven by a shared belief that Europe covers all necessary technologies and know-how to develop a fusion energy system on the continent.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the private fusion industry has attracted over \u20ac6bn in private investment around the world, while European public authorities are supporting public and private fusion initiatives with significant funding plans.<\/p>\n<h3>Making fusion a reality in Europe<\/h3>\n<p>By uniting European industry around a common vision, the European Fusion Association aims to make fusion energy a reality in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The association firmly believes that only a united Europe can achieve true success in this field and prevent the fragmentation of the European industry into isolated national entities.<\/p>\n<p>A unified body in Europe is essential to representing the diverse interests of the fusion industry. It should encompass all stakeholders, from fusion power plant designers to technology developers and supply chain companies, in their dealings with Brussels and national governments.<\/p>\n<p>The EFA will be formally established in the next few months and will welcome all interested actors involved in fusion.<\/p>\n<p>This shows the importance of joining forces in Europe to guarantee energy
