A new study has found that California emits more sulfuryl fluoride, a harmful greenhouse gas, than the rest of the US combined.<\/h2>\n
It may come as a shock that California emits a high amount of sulfuryl fluoride due to its aggressive greenhouse gas reduction policies.<\/p>\n
As much as 17% of global emissions of this gas, a common pesticide used to treat termites and other wood-infesting insects, stem from the United States.<\/p>\n
A new study led by Johns Hopkins University discovered that the majority of those emissions trace back to just a few counties in California.<\/p>\n
