Originally proposed by the Commission in April last year, the Cyber Solidarity Act will enhance the EU\u2019s capabilities to detect, prepare and respond to cyberattacks and threats<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Cyber Solidarity Act will introduce three key actions:<\/p>\n The new legislation is pivotal for the EU, with current geopolitical events impacting cybersecurity.<\/p>\n Thierry Breton, Commissioner for Internal Market, explained: \u201cThe Cyber Solidarity Act is a crucial step to establish a European cyber shield.<\/p>\n \u201cI welcome the agreement reached yesterday evening. Europe will now rely on a European Cybersecurity Alert System to detect cyber threats more quickly and on a European cyber solidarity mechanism to support any Member States attacked, including through a European cyber reserve.<\/p>\n \u201cWith the European Cyber Solidarity Act, we are enhancing cyber operational cooperation at the European level.
