The winners will benefit from a share of up to \u00a36m to cut their emissions and work with technical advisors to adopt measures such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/hydrogen-fuel\/\">hydrogen<\/a> and carbon capture.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the funding will target projects outside of the UK\u2019s major industrial areas, as around 55% of the country\u2019s industrial emissions are caused by companies in dispersed locations.<\/p>\n<h3>Plans to open a new phase of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund<\/h3>\n<p>The government also announced plans to open a new phase of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund later this month for a further \u00a3185m. This will help companies transition towards cleaner and more secure energy, backing measures like replacing inefficient equipment and switching to hydrogen.<\/p>\n<p>The funding will ensure that businesses are supported in the transition to net zero, securing green industrial jobs for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Sectors eligible to apply include manufacturing, recycling, controlled environment horticulture, industrial laundries, and textile renting facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Energy Efficiency and Green Finance Lord Callanan said: \u201cWith over \u00a3190m available for businesses to make the move to cleaner, cheaper energy \u2013 and with 12 projects benefiting directly today \u2013 we are delivering the support they need to decarbonise.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Funding winners will cut emissions<\/h3>\n<p>Amongst the winners is Shoreham Port Industrial Cluster, an established cluster with 175 businesses based on the 110-acre site. It will explore ways to cut emissions and improve local air quality by working with local councils.<\/p>\n<p>The Industrial Decarbonisation for Northern Ireland will develop plans to help local businesses increase their productivity whilst cutting emissions.<\/p>\n<p>Decarbonising the Midlands Aerospace Cluster is another winner who will work with key players in the region\u2019s aerospace supply chain to identify manufacturing processes that release greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n<p>The fund will offer support for businesses to switch to more energy-efficient technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The announcements are part of the government\u2019s commitment to spend more than \u00a312bn on energy efficiency by 2028.
