Harris TD, has launched Quantum 2030, Ireland\u2019s first national strategy for quantum technologies.<\/h2>\n<p>As quantum technologies continue to innovate, Ireland has implemented Quantum 2030 to put itself ahead in the global playing field.<\/p>\n<p>Quantum 2030 ensures that Ireland is ready for the quantum revolution by supporting research and emerging talent.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ie\/en\/publication\/126b4-quantum-2030-a-national-quantum-technologies-strategy-for-ireland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">national quantum technologies strategy<\/a> harnesses research and innovation to create a competitive advantage over other global players.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Simon Harris said: \u201cThe publication of Quantum 2023 marks the adoption of its vision as a whole-of-Government policy goal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strategy sets out a path for Ireland to be an internationally competitive hub for quantum technologies by 2030.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The quantum industry is growing in Ireland<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/tag\/quantum-computing\/\">Quantum computing<\/a> activities have grown in academia and enterprise organisations in Ireland over the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>The development of crucial quantum computing applications for organisations, end-users, and researchers has also significantly increased.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this, organisations in Ireland are investing in quantum computing solutions for their business services and solutions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-lg-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12 col-xs-12 margin-bottom-sm\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<p>Minister Harris added: \u201cIreland has a strategically important position in the technology sector as a competitive global hub.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-lg-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12 col-xs-12 margin-bottom-xlg\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the synergy between the quantum training programmes offered by industry partners and those run through our universities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-lg-12 col-md-12 col-sm-12 col-xs-12 margin-bottom-xlg\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<p>\u201cTogether these programmes will prepare Ireland for the quantum revolution, providing us with a skilled workforce ready to apply breakthroughs in quantum computing to smart medical technology, telecommunications, climate change, and more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Quantum 2030: Fostering innovation and competitiveness<\/h3>\n<p>Quantum computing has a long research tradition in Ireland, from developing critical technologies for quantum computer engineering to realising quantum computing hardware and software.<\/p>\n<p>Quantum 2030 is leveraging the opportunities and challenges of quantum technologies by creating strong guidelines for Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Harris concluded: \u201cWe believe Ireland can build on our existing successes in information and communication technologies to become a global leader in research, development and innovation that underpins the quantum revolution and to become the hub for realising and exploiting
