The Lamborghini Lanzador electric car concept has been unveiled at this year’s Monterey Car Week, the company’s first all-electric model.

Set to be released in 2028, the Lamborghini Lanzador is a high-ground-clearance, four-seater GT that looks straight out of a futuristic sci-fi film.

The Lamborghini electric car boasts a cutting-edge, long-range battery, generating more than one megawatt in peak power.

The all-wheel drive Lanzador transfers this electrifying power to the road through electric motors on each axle, ensuring permanent all-electric drive in all conditions.

Furthering the company’s climate ambitions, the Lanzador is manufactured using sustainable materials that provide the luxurious quality synonymous with the Italian automaker and minimise its environmental impact.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: “The Lanzador concept delivers on each of the elements that should define the first full-electric Lamborghini.

“It was important to uncover the first vision of the fourth model at The Quail event to share a glimpse into the future while surrounded by current Lamborghini models that represent 60 years of the company’s DNA.”

The Lanzador encapsulates Lamborghini’s ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ philosophy and roadmap towards net zero announced in 2021.

Based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Lamborghini’s base of operations has been certified as a carbon-neutral operation since 2015, with the company planning to halve its emissions further from 2025.

The company aims to fully electrify its range by the end of 2024, investing over €1.9bn in the project to capture the growing EV market. The first Lamborghini electric car represents a significant milestone in achieving these targets.

The Lanzador offers not only unparalleled zero-emission power but also active e-torque vectoring on the rear axle for optimal cornering and industry-leading hardware.

Lamborghini says there are no compromises in terms of power, driving pleasure, and performance in the Lanzador.

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, explained: “For us, electrification does not mean a restriction, but an intelligent opportunity to develop more performance and drivability.”
