The index created by Cisco, a multinational technology conglomerate, gave Denmark the highest score in the analysis on two of the seven components that the countries are measured on.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This new analysis by Cisco confirms that Denmark is one of the world\u2019s top locations for tech-activities. We offer a state of the art digital infrastructure and a world-class talent pool across tech areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see that a lot of foreign tech-companies have noticed that Denmark is a great place for tech-development and testing,&#8221; commented Henriette Brent-Pedersen, Tech Advisor, <a href=\"https:\/\/investindk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Invest in Denmark<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>How are the countries assessed?<\/h3>\n<p>A countries <a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovationnewsnetwork.com\/smartport-hamburg\/600\/\">digital readiness<\/a> score is determined by Cisco researchers examining countries against the seven components which are believed to indicate a countries ability to take advantage of digitisation. These components are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Basic Needs<\/strong> \u2013 this component is determined by life expectancy, mortality rate, population of people using safe drinking water and access to electricity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Business &amp; Government Investment<\/strong> \u2013 this is evaluated by assessing the foreign direct investment, research and development expenditure, investment freedom.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ease of Doing Business<\/strong> \u2013 factors effecting this ranking include Rule of Law, Logistic Performance Index and Time to Get Electricity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Human Capital<\/strong> \u2013 this is ranked by evaluating labour force participation rate, adult literacy rate, education index and harmonised test score.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start-Up Environment<\/strong> \u2013 a countries ranking for this is determined by new business density, patents granted &amp; trademarks registered and venture capital investment &amp; availability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technology Adoption<\/strong> \u2013 mobile device penetration, internet usage and cloud services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technology Infrastructure<\/strong> \u2013 mobile broadband subscriptions, fixed broadband subscriptions, secure internet servers and household internet access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Where else scored highly in the index?<\/h3>\n<p>All countries evaluated had the total score of 11.9 in the Cisco\u2019s Digital Readiness Index. The overall top five countries are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Singapore<\/strong> \u2013 scored 20.26<\/li>\n<li><strong>Luxembourg<\/strong> \u2013 scored 19.54<\/li>\n<li><strong>United States<\/strong> \u2013 scored 19.03<\/li>\n<li><strong>Denmark<\/strong> \u2013 scored 18.98<\/li>\n<li><strong>Switzerland<\/strong> \u2013 scored 18.86<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Denmark has advanced to 4th place on Cisco\u2019s Global Digital Readiness Index which\u00a0 measures how prepared countries are to take advantage of the benefits of digitisation.
