According to a recent survey conducted by cheese alternative producer, MozzaRisella, over 45% of meat eaters are planning to reduce their meat consumption.<\/h2>\n

The survey conducted by MozzaRisella<\/a> was completed by respondents of various eating preferences. The results revealed that 49% of flexitarians are intending to further reduce meat going forward.<\/p>\n

The multi-generational survey has highlighted that whilst veganism is often seen as a generational trend, this is not always the case. According to the survey, Generation X (those born between 1965 and 1979), are leading the way in veganism, followed by Millennials and Baby Boomers.<\/p>\n

16% of non-vegans would be tempted to switch to a plant-based diet if there were more plant-based options available in restaurants. 13% of the participants could be convinced by having more palatable meat alternatives. A further 11% of those studied would consider switching if there were more comfort food options available.<\/p>\n

What did we learn from the plant-based participants?<\/h3>\n

Those who are already plant-based eaters<\/a>, however, often struggle to find what they are looking for, both in shops and when eating out.<\/p>\n

According to the plant-based group of participants, vegan cheese alternatives are the most difficult to find, with 30% of respondents stating that they can\u2019t find a healthy and tasty option, followed by the lack of vegan bakery products, fish and dessert alternatives.<\/p>\n

This study highlighted that the consumers surveyed are becoming increasingly aware of where and how their food is being produced, with 39% fully and 45% somewhat aware.<\/p>\n

Franco Vessio, Co-Founder of MozzaRisella said \u201cMore and more consumers are proactively avoiding certain ingredients, driven by medical reasons, healthier lifestyle choices, ethical or environmental concerns.<\/p>\n
