Despite global impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, 3,000 new jobs have been created in the UK space sector in one year.<\/h2>\n
According to new figures released today (13 April 2022), demonstrate that employment in the UK space sector has risen 6.7% with 46,995 in 2020, up from 44,040 in 2019, thus displaying an increase of 2,955 new UK space jobs.<\/p>\n
Additionally, sector income has increased in nominal terms from \u00a316.4bn to \u00a316.5bn, with exports counting for around a third (32%) of this total. Space manufacturing, including satellites, spacecraft, launch vehicles, and scientific instruments, grew rapidly up by \u00a323m to \u00a32.27bn. Following the UK Government\u2019s commitment to increase public and private R&D spending, investment in research and development<\/a> revealed a 19% boost to \u00a3836m.<\/p>\n
