Spectrum Blue<\/a> aims to reduce the spread of infections, ultimately contributing to a more resilient global healthcare system and decreasing infections, epidemics, and contamination.<\/h2>\n

Spectrum Blue\u2019s mission is to contribute to society by saving lives and reducing the number of people exposed to viruses and bacteria, which cause infections, sickness, and a lower quality of life.<\/p>\n

Our aim is to reduce such impact on people and create a more robust healthcare system globally.<\/p>\n

We have started this initiative through our outstanding indoor paint products and plan to expand our product portfolio into other healthcare products in our future\u00a0value\u00a0chain.<\/p>\n

Advanced materials for a resilient healthcare system and sustainable environments<\/h3>\n

Spectrum Blue produces a patented pigment with unique sterilising properties.<\/p>\n

Our pigment, called Q-FIELD, when mixed into paint, has lasting antiviral, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties without ion loss. When the paint is applied to any surface, the surfaces become inhibitive to biofilm formation and neutralises viruses.<\/p>\n

This is due to quantum<\/a> and electrochemical effects that give the pigment a positive charge. This charge influences the bacterium’s metabolism, changing the activity of ATP synthase, destabilising bacterial membranes, and hydrolysing viral proteins.<\/p>\n

Bacteria are unable to develop resistance to these mechanisms, and eukaryotic cells are unaffected. Unlike silver-ion-based paints that deplete and emit ions harmful to people, Q-field paints do not deplete and do\u00a0not\u00a0lose\u00a0ions.<\/p>\n

We truly believe that humans need better protection against viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Protecting people also involves shielding properties and the environment.<\/p>\n

Reducing Healthcare Associated Infections<\/h3>\n

Spectrum Blue aims to strongly contribute to reducing HAI (Healthcare Associated Infections) by 30-40% and reduce the consumption of antibiotics\u00a0by\u00a025%\u00a0or\u00a0more.<\/p>\n

We will continue to work with our partners to better understand and reduce HAI and expand on our solutions for a safe healthcare industry for both healthcare practitioners and their patients.<\/p>\n

Spectrum Blue continues the mission to develop products that will reduce and control the spread of infections, by introducing the Q-field family of pigments to other substrates and surfaces in use in the healthcare system and by medical professionals.<\/p>\n
